Reassessing Your Law Firm’s Strategic Planning

It feels like 2018 just started, but we’re already well into the second quarter of the year! No matter if you run a small, medium or large law firm, this time of year is a great time to reset, reassess and make real changes in your law firm strategic planning.

If your law firm isn’t where you want it to be, changing your trajectory isn’t as tough as you might think.

Steps To Reassess Your Law Firm Strategic Planning

Assessing Your Law Firm’s Goals

Start by asking yourself three simple questions:
  1. What are my business goals for the year? (Your goals should be more than strictly financial goals).
  2. Where am I now, and how close (or far) am I from reaching my goals?
  3. What can I do to get (or stay) on track?
These are high-level questions that can help you constantly take stock of how your law firm is performing throughout the year. The truth is, most law firms never ask themselves these questions, so they continue making the same mistakes quarter after quarter, year after year.

Creating A Plan For Your Future
No matter the industry, businesses typically do not make time to create a strategic plan nor do they have an exit strategy.

A good plan starts with the end in mind then breaks the goals down in quarterly increments to achieve the desired results.
